1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Family Budget & Expense Tracker ("the App," "we," "our," or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the Family Budget & Expense Tracker mobile application, you ("User," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Family Budget & Expense Tracker is a mobile application designed to help individuals and families track expenses, manage budgets, and maintain financial records. The App operates primarily offline with data stored locally on your device, with an optional feature to back up data to your personal Google Drive account.

2.1 Key Features

• Monthly budget allocation and spending summaries
• Expense history with search and filter capabilities
• Optional Google Drive backup functionality
• Data export and import for backup and device migration

3. User Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this App. If you are between 13 and 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

4. License and Usage Rights

4.1 License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on your personal mobile device for your personal, non-commercial use.

4.2 Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

• Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Copy, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App
• Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices on the App

5. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the financial data you enter into the App. We do not verify, audit, or validate your expense entries or budget allocations.

5.2 Data Backup

While the App provides local storage and optional Google Drive backup features, you are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of your data. We strongly recommend:

• Regularly exporting your data using the built-in export feature
• Maintaining offline copies of critical financial records
• Testing restore procedures to ensure data can be recovered

5.3 Device Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, including:

• Using strong device passwords or biometric authentication
• Keeping your device operating system and security software up to date
• Protecting your device from unauthorized access
• Securing your Google account if using Google Drive backup

6. Data Ownership and Privacy

6.1 Your Data

You retain all ownership rights to the financial data you create and store using the App. All expense entries, budget allocations, and other information you input remain your property.

6.2 Local Storage

The App stores your data locally on your device. We do not have access to your financial information unless you explicitly choose to enable Google Drive backup.

6.3 Privacy Policy

Our collection, use, and protection of your information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review the Privacy Policy carefully.

7. Google Drive Integration

7.1 Optional Feature

The Google Drive backup feature is entirely optional. By enabling this feature, you authorize the App to access your Google Drive to store backup files in a dedicated folder.

7.2 Third-Party Service

Google Drive is a third-party service provided by Google LLC. Your use of Google Drive is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for Google's services, policies, or any issues arising from your use of Google Drive.

7.3 Backup Limitations

While we strive to provide reliable backup functionality, we cannot guarantee:

• Continuous availability of Google Drive services
• Successful upload or retrieval of backup files in all circumstances
• Compatibility with future changes to Google Drive APIs or policies

8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

8.1 "As-Is" Basis

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8.2 No Financial Advice

8.3 Data Loss

WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DATA LOSS, CORRUPTION, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS YOUR FINANCIAL RECORDS, WHETHER DUE TO DEVICE FAILURE, SOFTWARE BUGS, GOOGLE DRIVE ISSUES, USER ERROR, OR ANY OTHER CAUSE. YOU ACCEPT FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR MAINTAINING APPROPRIATE BACKUPS.

8.4 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Family Budget & Expense Tracker, its developers, affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your use or misuse of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Any financial decisions or actions you take based on data in the App

10. Updates and Modifications

10.1 App Updates

We may periodically release updates to the App to add features, fix bugs, or improve performance. You are responsible for downloading and installing updates. Some updates may be necessary for continued functionality or security.

10.2 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. You may also delete your local data and any Google Drive backups you have created.

11.2 By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at our discretion, including for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• Long periods of inactivity

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your license to use the App immediately ceases. However, since data is stored locally on your device, termination does not automatically delete your data unless you uninstall the App.

The App, including all software, designs, text, graphics, logos, and other content, is owned by Family Budget & Expense Tracker and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use our intellectual property without our prior written consent.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (such as Google Drive). We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14.2 Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App, you agree to first contact us to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may pursue legal remedies.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Family Budget & Expense Tracker regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
